Heritage Center-Museum on Main Street in Aguilar will be closed for the Winter months.  Reservations can be made by calling 719-406-5203.  No evening appointments. 

Watch for our Spring opening on May 31, 2025  with a "grand opening". 

This event will feature live presentations about the people and places of the Apishapa Valley from pioneers to gangsters and heroes.  

New Legends production owner, Steve Wharton  offers an engaging way to explore "The Legends of Las Animas County."

The museum will showcase monthly rotations of twelve "Legends of Las Animas County" banners along with copies of New Legends Magazine covers published from 2017 to 2023.  

The museum aims to enhance public understanding with the motto "Keeping the past - part of the future"  

Apishapa Valley Historical Society meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of  the month at 1:00 PM at the Aguilar Community Center or the museum.  (depending on the weather!)  You don't have to be a member to attend.
